Carpentry and Joinery at Nescot
Most construction projects need carpenters, so the job can take you anywhere from homes and commercial properties to building sites. Skilled carpentry is crucial to new builds, restoring and recreating historical buildings and providing timber elements of complex concrete supports.
What You Can Expect…
At Nescot, you will learn from tutors with specialisms ranging from restoration work with organisations like the National Trust to working with architects on cutting-edge new builds; joinery, shuttering and moulding, and site supervisors on large refurbishments and new estates.
The UK construction industry will need a total of 263,000 wood trades and interior fit-out occupations by 2021 (Construction Skills Network research – LMI).

“I enjoy doing a practical course, and working with my hands. I’m doing an apprenticeship at the moment, but one day I’ll set up my own business. The teachers are really helpful and they’re good at explaining new techniques.”
